Recently, i2Cool made an appearance at the International Built Environment Week (IBEW 2024) in Singapore. i2Cool, one of the 14 representative companies led by HKSTP - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, showcased several product series based on its electricity-free cooling technology, along with the working principles, as well as their prospects for wider applications in green building materials, energy efficiency solutions and sustainable design, further extending the market opportunities and influence of electricity-free cooling technology in Southeast Asia and beyond.
The delegation from HKSTP presented diverse building technology solutions in cutting-edge areas such as construction robotics, artificial intelligence security systems, smart buildings, and sustainable development solutions, demonstrating the potential of Hong Kong's innovation-driven companies in construction technology and promoting technological advancement and sustainable development in the international construction industry.
Asia's Most Comprehensive Built Environment Event
Solving For Tomorrow, Today
IBEW, Encouraging Efficient Solutions
Transforming the Built Environment Industry
IBEW is co-organized by BCA International, a subsidiary of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), in partnership with RX Singapore. It is regarded as the most comprehensive international event for the built environment industry in the Asia-Pacific region, bringing together the world's most advanced construction technology (ConTech) solutions.
With the theme "Solving For Tomorrow, Today", this year's IBEW encouraged industry leaders and participants to find solutions that can be efficiently applied to address climate change and the challenges facing the future built environment and to facilitate the transition of the built environment industry into an ecosystem that is more responsive to future needs.
Promoting More Exchange and Collaboration Between the Two Places
Minister for National Development of Singapore Visits Our Booth
HKSTP led a team of 14 real estate and building technology companies from across the park in setting up a pavilion at IBEW's Built Environment Expo Asia (BEX Asia). Here, they showcased cutting-edge solutions with market potential ranging from construction robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) security systems, smart buildings, and sustainable development solutions.
At the expo, Mr. Desmond Lee, Minister for National Development of Singapore, accompanied by Ms. Filla Mak, Chief Operating Officer of HKSTP, visited the HKSTP Pavilion and visited the i2Cool booth to learn more about the innovations and breakthroughs in the field of construction brought about by electricity-free cooling technology.

Electricity-free Cooling Technology
Offering More Possibilities for the Future Architecture Industry
As the only representative of a green building new material enterprise, i2Cool demonstrated how electricity-free cooling technology is driving the green and energy-saving transformation of the building environment. Prof. Martin Zhu, CEO and co-founder of i2Cool, introduced the company’s electricity-free cooling technology product line and its application principles to many visitors at the exhibition, attracting significant attention.
The company's core products include iPaint (electricity-free cooling paint) and iFilm (electricity-free cooling film), both of which are easy to apply and highly effective. The products can effectively lower indoor temperatures in buildings and reduce reliance on cooling systems, thus reducing energy consumption and carbon footprints and improving the cost-effectiveness of building operations.
In addition, i2Cool is rapidly advancing its new product, iCeramic, a new type of electricity-free cooling exterior tile. It uses entirely inorganic materials and has a multi-stage porous structure, allowing it to mitigate the heat island effect through its excellent optical properties, providing new options and technology support for urban construction.
On the final day, Prof. Martin Zhu was invited to the IBEW 2024 CEOs in Conversation event, themed “Accelerating Decarbonization by Creating Value.” The goal of this event was to promote sustainable practices and explore pathways to achieving both environmental and economic benefits through cross-sector collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Empowering Construction in Southeast Asia
Helping the Region Explore New Paths to Green Energy Efficiency
At IBEW 2024, Hong Kong's science and technology enterprises fully showcased their strong capabilities in the field of building technology, offering ample opportunities for future collaboration between Southeast Asia and Hong Kong in this field and promoting more exchange and cooperation to jointly drive advancements in construction technology.
i2Cool presence at IBEW 2024 highlights the potential of electricity-free cooling as a ConTech application, which is in line with the principles of efficiency and sustainability advocated by IBEW. Through the application of innovative materials and technologies, i2Cool will continue to provide groundbreaking, convenient, and green solutions for the construction industry, helping to build a more eco-friendly, efficient, and smart environment.
Currently, i2Cool’s electricity-free cooling products have been implemented in more than 20 countries and regions around the world in sectors such as architecture, chemical industry, power & telecom, new energy, logistics, grain storage, and photovoltaic.
In particular, in overseas regions like Southeast Asia and the Middle East, i2Cool's products have gained wide market recognition due to their excellent energy-saving cooling effects and environmental benefits, making positive contributions to building sustainability and green development in these regions.
