On January 15, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. Gan Kim Yong, led a business delegation to the Hong Kong Science Park. As one of the park’s innovation-driven companies, i2Cool was invited to join the discussions. Prof. Martin Zhu, Co-founder and CEO of i2Cool, met with Mr. Gan to explore the potential of electricity-free cooling technology in Singapore—particularly its role in energy conservation and reducing urban heat island effects.
Notably, i2Cool’s electricity-free cooling product recently received the highest-level certification from the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC). This recognition affirms the company’s technological excellence and product quality and is expected to accelerate the adoption of passive cooling solutions across Singapore and beyond.
During the four-day visit, Deputy Prime Minister Gan met with Hong Kong Chief Executive Mr. John Lee Ka-chiu, Financial Secretary Mr. Paul Chan Mo-po, and various business leaders for high-level dialogues. He also participated in a business roundtable co-organized by the Singapore Business Federation and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.
The visit aimed to deepen collaboration between Singapore and Hong Kong in areas such as finance, digital transformation, and sustainable development.
At Hong Kong Science Park, Deputy Prime Minister Gan toured local companies working in artificial intelligence, robotics, and green technologies. He expressed his appreciation for the research strength and market potential of Hong Kong's innovation ecosystem and welcomed the expansion of Hong Kong startups into the Singaporean market.
During the exchange, Prof. Martin Zhu discussed with Deputy Prime Minister Gan how electricity-free cooling technologies can support Singapore’s sustainability agenda by providing efficient, low-carbon urban cooling solutions that contribute to climate resilience and green infrastructure development.
i2Cool’s Electricity-Free Cooling Coating
Receives Highest-Level SGBC Certification
i2Cool’s core product—i2Coating—has been awarded the highest certification level by the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC). This certification highlights the product’s sustainability and environmental performance, as recognized by Singapore’s building and construction sector.
The SGBC certification, initiated by the National Environment Agency (NEA) of Singapore, serves to promote environmentally responsible products and services that meet sustainable development standards. Achieving SGBC certification also enables businesses to better access global markets where environmental requirements are becoming increasingly stringent.
Looking ahead, i2Cool plans to collaborate with Singaporean partners across multiple sectors, including construction, electrical infrastructure, and chemical storage. By supporting energy conservation, emissions reduction, and environmentally responsible practices, electricity-free cooling offers a practical and scalable solution for high-temperature, high-humidity tropical climates—delivering energy savings without additional power consumption.
i2Cool will continue to expand its presence in the Singaporean market, contributing green technological momentum to the nation’s sustainable development. At the same time, the company aims to deliver effective, energy-saving cooling solutions to more tropical countries and regions—supporting the global response to climate change and resource scarcity.
