It is a National High-Tech Enterprise and has received honors including National-level Specialized and Sophisticated “Little Giant” Enterprise, Guangdong Manufacturing Single Champion, and China Patent Excellence Award.

With more than sixty years of technical expertise accumulated through applied research institutes, Kinte Material Technology has built extensive experience in protection and coating applications across architectural profiles, automotive equipment, home appliances and household products, 3C communications, and general industry. The company has established a complete “coatings + resins” industrial chain. Its Dongguan production base has achieved a polyester resin capacity of over 100,000 tonnes, with products exported to more than 30 countries and regions worldwide. In addition, as a Vice Chair Member of the Coatings and Coating Professional Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, the company plays a key role in promoting the green transformation of the coatings industry.

i2Cool

/Focused on the R&D and Commercialization of Electricity-free Cooling Technology/

Shenzhen i2Cool Limited was co-founded by professors and young scientists from the School of Energy and Environment at City University of Hong Kong. The company commercializes research findings published in Science and focuses on the development of electricity-free cooling technology and energy-saving new materials.

Its core products include Electricity-free Cooling Coating and Electricity-free Cooling Film. Through self-developed nanoparticles, these products achieve high solar reflectance and mid-infrared radiation, delivering a zero-energy cooling effect.

i2Cool has expanded across multiple industries, including construction, power, chemicals, grain storage, photovoltaics, logistics, and new energy, and has entered markets in more than 30 countries and regions worldwide.

The company remains committed to providing highly efficient and energy-saving cooling solutions for low-carbon cities and green communities, contributing to global sustainable development and carbon neutrality goals.

Complementary Strengths

/Synergy in Technology R&D and Market Channels/

In line with the objectives of the strategic partnership, the two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in radiative cooling industrial coatings.

i2Cool will leverage its strengths in core material R&D and technical support, while Kinte Material Technology will draw on its expertise in coating formulation design, scaled production, quality control, and nationwide channel network. Together, the two parties will build a competitive product portfolio.

On the sales side, both parties will maintain the independence of their respective brands and channels, while also being able to sell the jointly developed products externally, thereby achieving complementarity in channel resources. On the technical side, the two parties plan to jointly establish an R&D platform to collaborate on forward-looking technologies and jointly cultivate professional talent.

Radiative cooling technology has already demonstrated significant energy-saving effects in scenarios such as building rooftops and exterior walls, enabling continuous cooling without external energy input.

However, industrial applications impose much higher requirements than building applications in terms of weather resistance, adhesion, corrosion protection, and other coating properties. The key value of this partnership lies in the potential deep technical integration between i2Cool’s radiative cooling functional layer and Kinte Material Technology’s industrial coating matrix. This integration is expected to enable the two major properties of “cooling” and “protection” to work synergistically within a single coating system.

On this basis, the partnership is expected to open up multiple industrial application directions in the future. In the longer term, the cooperation between the two parties will not be limited to the development of a single coating product, but may also give rise to a technology platform centered on “radiative cooling + industrial protection.” Based on this platform, differentiated product series can be developed for different industries, climate conditions, and substrate types, forming a radiative cooling industrial coating product matrix that covers multiple application scenarios.

Driven by the dual-carbon goals, passive energy-saving technologies in the industrial sector are attracting increasing attention. Radiative cooling coatings do not rely on electricity input and do not generate operation and maintenance costs. Once applied, they can continue to function throughout the life cycle of a facility. This “cooling upon coating” characteristic gives the technology a unique economic advantage in energy conservation and emission reduction pathways.

Kinte Material Technology’s nationwide manufacturing and channel network provides a practical foundation for the large-scale industrial application of radiative cooling coatings. The establishment of the joint R&D platform is also expected to advance the technology from a single product toward systematic solutions, further strengthening both parties’ technological influence in the field of green industrial materials.

This strategic signing marks an important milestone for i2Cool as it expands from the building sector into the field of industrial coatings, and also represents a new move by Kinte Material Technology in the direction of green and low-carbon coatings. Looking ahead, the two parties will continue to explore the applicability of radiative cooling technology in broader industrial scenarios. Through material innovation, they aim to drive the green transformation of industries and provide a practical technological pathway for achieving the dual-carbon goals.
